Then along the Embankment  with a brief comfort stop, past The London Eye and Tate Modern art gallery. Over The Millenium bridge, past St Paul’s Cathederal and along Fleet street. We strolled through Covent garden with all it’s street entertainers finishing back at Leicester Square.
Thank you all who walked and contributed to the ongoing work of CSSI. A great effort from the youngest walker (6) to the eldest (80+)

Trustee’s Pam and Steve Frost visit West Bengal

We had a very productive visit to Kolkata and surrounding villages in West Bengal. We saw work in the slums progressing, with the Soya milk project supplying children, pregnant mothers and elderly with much needed food. The government have seen this ministry and responded by completely rebuilding homes in the area. They have given land by the milk project to enable the building of a centre for women in the slums to make Saris.

The village work is growing with the future new school building, and enrolment has already started. However, there have been long delays in administration with paperwork. There are two new teachers in the school in Praterppur, and this has involved the training of the workers. The Indian board are looking to get a manager and more teachers.

A new bicycle was purchased to enable visits to children’s clubs. Two new children’s clubs have been set up. Clothes, hats and chocolate bars were distributed and games, stories and songs were enjoyed by all.

Sonabara school is looking somewhat tired and could do with some renovation.

Thank you for prayerful support.
